Hola. Bienvenidos a mi sitio de Web. Este sitio está diseñado informar a mis estudiantes y padres de familia sobre el curso español 1 (de principiantes) en Alexandria Senior High School (Louisiana).
En este sitio encontrarán información acerca de lo que hacemos diariamente en mi clase, anuncios sobre projectos, tareas, ejercicios para practicar, así como una variedad de enlaces.
La principal meta de este curso es que mis estudiantes conozcan un poco las diferentes culuras hispanohablantes, proveerlos de un conocimiento básico del vocabulario y la gramática fundamental, así como darles oportunidades para practicar el idioma en forma escrita y oral.
Todo lo anterior dará al estudiante un entendimiento fundamental sobre el idioma. El español -- así como cualquier otro idioma, va más allá de la traducción literal de palabras y la conjugación de verbos. Nuestro bello idioma tiene su propio ritmo, idiosincracias, y tradiciones, por así dercirlo.
Así pues bienvenidos nuevamente y que disfruten este nuevo año escolar, en el que espero poderlos ayudar a alcanzar sus metas académicas.

Welcome to my Website. This site is designed to inform my students and their parents (caregivers) about the Spanish 1 course at Alexandria Senior High School.
Here you will find information about our daily activities, announcements, projects, homework, practice exercises, and a variety of links to further support student learning.
The goal of these courses is to expose students to different Hispanic cultures, to give them an insight into basic vocabulary and fundamental grammar, as well as to give them plenty of opportunities to practice and become proficient writing and speaking.
All of the above will give students a better understanding of the language. The Spanish language – like any other, goes beyond a literal translation of words and conjugation of verbs. This wonderful language has its own rhythm, idiosyncrasies, and traditions so to speak.
It’s my sincere hope that you enjoy this academic year. Please do have fun and learn something along the way and don’t forget I am here to help you reach your academic goals.
